Boarding

In our Boarding Establishment we cater for girls from Grade 6 – 12.

We have termly, weekly and overnight boarding in a secure and friendly environment.
The day-to-day needs of the boarders are taken care of by dedicated and interested house and boardermistresses.
Our holistic approach to boarding ensures that we give special attention to the physical, academic, social and spiritual needs of our boarders.

Physical:

• The safety of our girls is of paramount importance and their departure from the school premises is carefully monitored.
• A clinic, capably managed by a qualified nursing sister, is equipped to care for the girls when they are ill.
• Nutritionally balanced, tasty and varied meals are provided by an out-sourced caterer.  Special dietary needs are accommodated.

Academic:

• The Head of Boarding is an academic member of staff who lives on the property.
• She monitors the academic progress of the boarders and ensures that prep takes place in a controlled environment.
• Girls have access to computers during some of the prep sessions.

Emotional:

• The housemistresses and boardermistresses take a personal interest in each girl and develop close relationships with them.
• A qualified school counsellor is available to deal with specialist needs.

Social:

• Varied outings and social functions are arranged at weekends to cater for the termly boarders’ social needs.
• A games room (equipped with snooker, table tennis etc.) and a TV room provide opportunities for girls to relax and socialise with each other.
• An extensive range of sporting facilities are available at the weekends for recreational sport.

Spiritual:

• Boarders are able to join local Youth Groups on Friday evenings, attend local Church services on a Sunday morning and take part in Boarders’ Chapel services on a Sunday evening.
