ENTRANCE / SCHOLARSHIP EXAMINATIONS FOR ENTRY INTO GRADE 8
The Epworth Entrance / Scholarship Exam for all Grade 8 applications for entry in 2018
(Date: Friday 5 May 2017)
The Grade 8 Entrance Examination consists of three papers:
- Afrikaans or Zulu
The Examinations are skills rather than content based and predominantly take into consideration the work covered in Grade 6.
Examination Date: Friday 5 May 2017 from 7h30 – 11h00
A limited number of Academic, Cultural and Sporting Scholarships are awarded.
- A major scholarship
- A number of minor scholarships.
These scholarships are tenable for five years provided academic, sporting or cultural standards are maintained.
All children writing the Entrance Examination are automatically eligible for the academic scholarships which are awarded on the results of this examination.
Cultural Scholarships (Music & Dance):
These scholarships require a completed Cultural Scholarship form and an audition. Music also requires a written paper which will be administered immediately after the Entrance Exam.
Music: Parents will be contacted to set up an audition date and time.
Dance: The candidates will have a group dance audition.
These scholarships require a completed Sports Scholarship form and an interview (if applicants meet the criteria).
