KID’S LIT QUIZ

This is the third year we have participated and each year there are more teams. This year there were 24 teams and Epworth entered 2, the maximum allowed. Epworth came a very close second to Athlone’s first place on the Friday and moved through to the S.A. Finals, which, to our great excitement, were held in Pietermaritzburg this year. Epworth’s team acquitted themselves very well against stiff competition from schools around South Africa. Several of last year’s team members came to wish us good luck and we were pleased to see some Epworth parents and children who came to support us. The competition was won by The Ridge School from Johannesburg. We were all delighted that a Pietermaritzburg school, Athlone, came second. The winners will go to the Edinburgh Book Festival in August for the world finals. The website for the Kid’s Lit Quiz is www.kidslitquiz.com if you would like to follow the progress of this exciting quiz which rewards life-long readers. Well done to both of the Epworth teams that participated!
