Epworth is a special place offering a form of education that specifically aims to produce pupils and young adults who are extraordinary. We invite you to discover more about Epworth. At Epworth, we cater for boys and girls from Grade RRR to Grade 7 and girls only from Grade 8 to 12.

We appreciate the complexity involved in choosing a suitable school for your child and we endeavour to provide you with all the assistance required to make an informed decision.

Throughout the year, we schedule dates for dedicated tours of the Prep and High School which are advertised on the website, on our social media pages and in the press. However, if these dates do not suit you, please contact us and we will arrange for you to have an individual tour of the school.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Please submit the following to the Epworth School Admissions Administrator:

Application Form : online form or download the form here PDF
A non-refundable application fee of R600
A copy of your child’s unabridged birth certificate
A passport sized photograph
Latest school report (end of Grade 6 report if applying for Grade 8)
Copies of both parents’/guardians’ ID
Proof of household income (i.e. payslip / 3 months’ bank statements / financial statements)

Acceptance to Epworth is subject to: an academic clearance / assessment (entrance exam for Grade 8), financial clearance, available space and an interview with the relevant Head / Principal.

APPLICATION FEE

A non-refundable application fee of R600 is payable on return of the application form.
This fee covers all administrative costs involved with the application, including credit clearance.

ACCEPTANCE FEE

A non-refundable acceptance fee is payable immediately a pupil accepts the offer of a place in the school.
This is calculated as 10% of the annual fee. Boarders include the boarding fee in this calculation.

Limited bursaries are available annually for existing parents requiring financial assistance with their fees. Applications for renewal are required each year and awards are made strictly on a needs basis. All bursary applications are highly confidential and application forms can be obtained from the Business Manager on 033 846 2500.

FELLOWSHIP AWARDS (Grade 8 only)

Epworth awards a limited number of minor and major fellowships to pupils entering at the Grade 8 level. These are based on financial need and excellence in one or more areas such as academics, sport, performing arts. They are tenable for five years.
