Epworth’s birthday on 3 August was cause for great celebration as we reflected on 123 years of faith, compassion and courage and appreciated how far we have progressed since our humble beginnings in 1898. Although our school has changed and evolved over the years, the quintessence of who we are and what we stand for has not changed. We have upheld the ideals and aspirations of our two courageous founders, and we have stayed true to their creation.
Our birthday provided us with the perfect opportunity to give back to our community. And, since we were not on campus to celebrate Mandela Day, we decided to participate in 67 minutes of service. The High School made sandwiches for Youth for Christ, the Pre-Primary donated bread and spreads for the sandwich making and the Prep pupils decorated and packed biscuits for Life Changer. There was a wonderful outpouring of enthusiasm and support from all our pupils. Thank you to everyone who supported the different initiatives.
