Epworth paddlers claim podium spots

The Fish River Canoe Marathon, held in the eastern Cape, proved a bumper event for Epworth paddlers. Twelve Epworth pupils, along with numerous Epworthians, participated in the grueling two-day event. Our current pupils dominated the women’s U18 category, claiming the top three spots. Jessica Behn and Rachel van Deventer came first, Amy Hulett and Laila Maher (from TWC) placed second and Lizanne Conradie and Sarah Jones were third. Past Epworth pupils, Shannon-Ann Parker-Dennison and Tracey Oellermann and Jade Dundas-Starr and Tabitha Hulett came first and second respectively in the U23 category. In the women’s competition, Jordan Peek and Pippa McGregor, also Epworth past pupils, claimed the third spot. Former Epworth Prep School pupil, Murray Starr, and his partner, placed 8th in the men’s competition.
